Program Overview
The Foundations Course is a progressive educational pathway designed to build clinical skills step‑by‑step. It combines online lectures, mentorship, case work, and practical clinical training to help veterinarians integrate homeopathy into practice.
Step 1 – Acute Prescribing Foundation
Topics include principles of classical homeopathy, acute case taking, remedy selection, materia medica foundations, repertory skills, and clinical application in everyday practice.
Outcome: Confidence treating acute disease.

Step 2 – Chronic Disease Training
Topics include chronic disease philosophy, case analysis, long‑term case management, remedy relationships, follow‑ups, miasmatic understanding, and advanced prescribing strategies. The Chronic Disease Training course includes the Clinical Training and Mentorship module.
Outcome: Ability to manage complex chronic cases.

Step 3 – Clinical Training & Mentorship

Dr. April volunteered her dog Willow as the homeopathic patient for the 2024 VHI Class's chronic case study. Chronic disease training begins at the end of session one and continues throughout the course.
Willow has a long history of digestive troubles that were poorly responsive to many allopathic and holistic treatments, and had recently developed mammary tumors. The class received Willow's case under the guidance of the VHI faculty, and as their training progressed, selected her homeopathic medicine and followed her progress throughout the course.
