Veterinary Homeopathy Institute (VHI) provides post-graduate training for veterinarians in the Foundations Course in Veterinary Homeopathy. Classical homeopathy is a therapeutic medical specialty that respects the wisdom of the body by stimulating healing rather than chasing the symptoms of disease. Homeopathy is one of the first and most successful systems of evidence-based medicine. Each homeopathic prescription involves a holistic approach for the individual patient, treating both the emotional and physical signs of illness and resulting in improvement of health. Large and small animals, horses, herds, wildlife, and exotics all respond readily to homeopathic treatment. Unlike drug therapy, the same homeopathic medicine that can heal a hamster can also be used in a Herford or a Haflinger, making this a rewarding specialty to add to your practice.
Our five-session hybrid course provides the foundations of veterinary homeopathy to prepare you to successfully treat conditions ranging from acute injury and infectious illness to a wide variety of chronic diseases. Homeopathy offers hope for chronic ailments such as allergies, atopic dermatitis, otitis, digestive disorders, renal insufficiency, cancers, vaccinosis, and autoimmune conditions. Instead of using strong drugs to suppress the immune system and the signs of illness, homeopathic medicines are used to stimulate a healing response in the body to improve and restore health.
Faculty instructors and Certified Veterinary Homeopaths Lisa Melling, Laura Weis, and Rosy Ramirez share their vast teaching experience and extensive education in homeopathy to provide students with a solid foundation in the art of classical veterinary homeopathy. Our unique training program is a hybrid course that combines the best of in-person and on-line learning to respect your busy life. The next course begins in May 2023 and concludes in September 2023. The first and fifth sessions are in-person, conveniently situated in the middle of the country with a local airport in beautiful, downtown Traverse City, Michigan. Sessions 2, 3, and 4 are attended from the comfort of your home and combines live on-line training and work-at-your-own-pace learning through pre-recorded webinars and study material. There is strong mentoring support for students throughout the course, and the extensive and varied clinical experience from the faculty provides many excellent cases from which to learn.
In addition to homeopathic training to heal acute and chronic conditions, students will learn ancillary therapies that can support health, including fresh food nutrition and when to include other modalities to promote healing. Each faculty instructor will also discuss their business model to help students successfully integrate homeopathy into their practices. All graduates of this course will receive a 1-year complementary membership in the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy (AVH). Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to pursue Certification in Veterinary Homeopathy (CVH). Following graduation, there are many opportunities for continuing education in homeopathy, including monthly webinars offered by VHI, the annual AHVMA and AVH conferences, and the advanced meeting in veterinary homeopathy provided by Dr. Pitcairn and his homeopathic colleagues.
